To celebrate TIER’s first year at Donaustrasse 84 in Berlin-Neukölln, we are publishing the first reader on the topic of the endotic, The Endotic Reader № 1. We are bringing together contributions by some of the participants we have hosted over the year, as well as people we look forward to inviting to the space, to celebrate the past year and the ones to come. These contributions will explore some of the paths that the Perecquian word “endotic” offers, as a way of approaching the territory of complexity that we live in and through. The topics explored in the reader range from a meditation on the practice of dis-othering to a reflection on trauma and on to thoughts on the future of reading. A public walk with five stops will introduce a selection of texts presented in the reader. The prints of the cover are in collaboration with On/Off, and in the last stop, there will be a chance to print a poster in collaboration with Druck Druck Druck exhibition.

The Institute for Endotic Research (TIER) began in 2015 as a fictional institution understood as a habitable sculpture. Since June 2018, it inhabits the space at Donaustr. 84 in Berlin-Neukölln. TIER is co-directed by Lorenzo Sandoval and Benjamin Busch.
